Niigata Shoyu Ramen
Niigata's winters are harsh! This ramen is perfectly designed for them.
Picture this - it's freezing outside. Wouldn't a bowl of ramen hit the spot? This style of Niigata ramen comes from snowy Tsubame-Sanjo. The broth is a bold shoyu (soy sauce) with fish flavors in the background. It's also brimming with rich pork back fat, meant to seal in the heat. In addition, you get beautifully crunchy onions!
- Boil 430 ml of water
- Open lid (without removing completely)
- Place toppings in dark green and red packets on top of noodles
- Pour boiled water up to line, seal lid and place pink packet (soup) on top to heat, wait 5 minutes
- Break up noodles and pour in, mix soup (pink packet) and you're ready!
