Ramen at Tokyo’s Grand Hub

Tokyo Station isn’t just one of the busiest train stations in the world. It's also a great place to slurp ramen. You won’t find too many hole-in-the-wall shops here. Instead, this area is all about famous names and high-level branches, tucked inside malls, underground food alleys, and of course, Tokyo Ramen Street.

Here are 5 of the best ramen shops around Tokyo Station - covering everything from tsukemen giants to refined shoyu.

1. Matsudo Tomita Menban (Tsukemen Powerhouse)

Tomita in Chiba is often called Japan’s number one ramen shop, and Matsudo Tomita Menban (松戸富田麺絆) - its Tokyo Station outpost - lives up to the hype.

They serve rich pork-and-fish based tsukemen (dipping ramen) that’s deeply flavored and beautifully balanced. The noodles are thick and chewy, the soup dense and complex. While the classic tsukemen is always a winner, you’ll also sometimes find limited specials like curry-flavored broth.

2. Nippon Ramen Rin (Modern Shoyu)

For something lighter, head to Ramen Rin (NIPPON RAMEN 凛) inside of Tokyo Station (Gransta area, Yaesu Central Exit).

Their specialty is a chicken-forward shoyu ramen - delicate in flavor, yet delicious. The broth has just enough syrupy chicken depth to carry the thin noodles, and everything feels in place. This is modern shoyu ramen at its best.

3. Aka Noren (Classic Hakata Tonkotsu)

If you’re craving a fast, no-nonsense bowl of creamy Hakata-style tonkotsu (pork bone ramen), Aka Noren (博多麺房赤のれん) delivers exactly that. It’s one of the most reliable tonkotsu specialists in the Tokyo Station area.

The thin Hakata noodles pair perfectly with the rich soup, staying firm even as they soak up the broth. Add benishoga (red pickled ginger) as a condiment and you’ve got a bowl that’s simple, satisfying, and very “Kyushu.”

4. Soranoiro Nippon (Creative & Colorful)

Among Tokyo Ramen Street’s many shops, Soranoiro Nippon (そらのいろNIPPON) stands out for its creativity.

They serve everything from classic ramen to vegan and gluten free bowls - which is still a rarity in Japan. Their ramen is colorful, fun, and refreshingly different, often topped with vibrant veggies that feel as carefully arranged as they are delicious. Soranoiro’s playful take on ramen has earned it a cult following, and it’s always one of our personal go-tos in the area.

5. Hanamichi-an (Spicy Miso Authority)

If you’re craving miso ramen, Hanamichi-an (味噌麺処 花道庵) is the name to remember.

They’re one of the most respected names in Tokyo’s miso ramen world, serving a rich, rich soup with that stir-fried miso magic. While the classic bowl is excellent, we think their spicy miso ramen (or tsukemen) is the standout. It's hearty and layered with flavor. Add thick noodles and a pile of bean sprouts, and you’ve got one of the most satisfying bowls on Tokyo Ramen Street and around Tokyo station.

Best Ramen Around Tokyo Station - Wrap-Up

Tokyo Station isn’t just about trains - it’s a ramen destination in its own right. From Tomita Menban’s iconic tsukemen to Hanamichi-an’s spicy miso, you could easily spend a whole afternoon here hopping from shop to shop.
